A resource is a treatment room, a laser bay, an injection suite, a consult room, a recovery area, a chair or a station, and clinics almost always name theirs after the equipment standing in it. Whether your team says the GentleMax Pro, the Morpheus8, the Ultherapy chair, the CoolSculpting bay, Room 2 or the HydraFacial station, that is the name you give the resource and that is the name that appears on the grid. The device is the constraint, not the hour
Resource scheduling books physical capacity against services, so a laser, a treatment room or a station is reserved with the visit rather than tracked on paper. When two appointments reach for the same machine, the capacity conflict surfaces exactly the way a provider conflict does, and it takes an explicit override before the visit is saved. A single fractional CO2 platform, one RF microneedling handpiece or one body contouring applicator cannot be quietly promised to two patients at once.

Who is credentialed on which device
The provider and service matrix records which staff perform which treatments, and services carry their own room and device requirements. A treatment that needs a specific device only offers the providers trained on it, and public online booking reads that separately from internal booking, so you can allow an internal booking without publishing the service to the world.
Turnover, prep and the maintenance window
Prep, treatment and turnover time are built into every service, so the schedule reflects the room rather than the optimism. Recurring time blocks cover any window that should stay unbookable, which is where calibration, servicing and manufacturer maintenance go. A device out for service stops being bookable because the block says so, not because someone remembered to tell the front desk.
What each room and device actually earns
Utilization is measured from the same hours the grid runs on, so you can see where the empty capacity is by provider, by room and by hour. Read against Service Sales and Product Usage, that tells you whether an expensive platform is carrying its lease or sitting idle three days a week. It is the number most clinics estimate and very few can read.
More rooms, more sites, same grid
Locations are configured in business setup and users are assigned to the sites they actually work at, so a group running several addresses keeps each site's rooms, devices and schedules separate while an operator still sees the whole estate. Adding a room or a device is a configuration change, not a rebuild.
